Day 1
Tuesday, August 10
Welcome aboard as we experience 12 Countries Without a Passport in Omaha, NE. We are going to experience the food, entertainment, sites, and cultures of the different ethic groups listed above. We will start our adventure by traveling through Illinois, Iowa and into Nebraska, arriving in Omaha in the late afternoon. We will have lunch at the Cracker Barrel in Des Moines and the Doubletree Hotel, located in downtown Omaha will be our home for the next 4 nights. We will visit our first country tonight for Dinner and Entertainment in Germany. Enjoy an evening of dancing, singing and food presents by the German American Society. After dinner, the society’s German Dance group performs dances from various regions of Germany followed by the men’s choir that will lead us in a traditional German sing-a-long. BD

Day 2
Wednesday, August 11
Breakfast will be served at our hotel before departing to the Omaha Visitor Center for a Welcome Reception and to meet our step on guide that will give us a Historical Driving Tour of Omaha. Japan is our next stop and a Tram Tour of the Lauritzen Gardens with stops at Japanese Mt. Fuji Replica and the Castle Gate. The Tram will take us on a narrated tour of 100 acres of gardens and to the new mini-railroad garden with toy trains weaving in and out of the gardens. The tour will end at the Kenefick Park where the largest steam locomotives are displayed. Lunch is going to be in the Czech Republic at the Bohemian Cafe`. Established in the early 1900’s, this Omaha Czech community landmark continues to serve a variety of home-made Czech dishes! The wait staff will be traditional Czech costume and the decor will take you back to the old country. Lunch will be followed by a demonstration by Edwana on the making of Kolachy, which we get to eat!!!! India is our next stop at the Hindu Temple, an amazing structure with elephants that greet you at the front entrance. We will learn about the religious customs associated with the Hindu religion. It’s about time for an afternoon break and where better to stop then the Lithuanian Bakery in Lithuania. We are going to enjoy a presentation on bread and tort making with a big sample tray of torts!!!!! We will head back to the hotel for a short rest before departing for Sweden. Dinner will be in the Renaissance Mansion that is well-known for its elegant atmosphere combined with excellent food and a Swedish Cooking show on Swedish food items, traditions and culture by master Chief Joe Krug. Even though we are in Sweden, it’s a short ride back to the hotel for a good nights sleep. BLDS

Day 3
Thursday, August 12
Breakfast will be served at your hotel before departing for China!!! We will enjoy the “Teas of China Presentation” at The Tea Smith Company. This is a presentation on the history of tea along with the variety of teas found in the country of China. It’s just a short hop from China to Scotland and the 1903 Joslyn Castle. The stone mansion resembles a traditional Scottish Castle and as you enter through the huge front doors, you will be amazed by the craftsmanship of the elaborate wood interior. The mansion contains 35 rooms. A Scottish presentation and dancers will follow the tour of the Castle. Ireland is our next stop!!! Lunch will be served at the Brazen Head Irish Pub and Restaurant. We will be served a “boxee” which is a common Irish luncheon dish followed by the music of an Irish folksinger. Let’s relax and take a step back in time and enjoy the 1927 Kimball Theatre Pipe Organ Concert. We will listen to the songs of the 1940’s and 1950’s or you can request music from the “Big Band” sounds or a variety of popular Broadway musical hits. We will take a break back at the hotel before departing for Dinner and the Cho Mari Ballet Folklorico, the Folk Dancers of Mexico Dinner Performance. This group really brings the house down with their terrific dancing and beautiful costumes. The dinner is a non-spicy Mexican meal. Just when you thought the day was over, we have one more surprise for you!!! Greece!!! We are going to enjoy Greek Dancing and Baklava for Dessert before returning to the hotel for the night. BLDS

Day 4
Friday, August 13
Breakfast will be served at your hotel again this morning. Our finally country to visit is Ukraine but we don’t have to leave our hotel this morning...Ukraine is coming to us!! Olesia Reprichowskyj will bring various Ukrainian linens and gives an entertaining presentation about the linens connection to Ukrainian history, custom and traditions. Olesia will have us laughing while educating us about life in Ukraine. We will spend the rest of the morning at Father Flanagan’s Boys Town. Visit the hall of history to learn the interesting history of this city of children along with viewings of a number of beautiful Chapels and a tour of the restored 1920’s home of Father Flanagan. A step-on guide will join us at the Visitors Center to explain the workings of this inspirational town. We are going to take you to “The Old Market” place in downtown Omaha and let you have some free time to eat some lunch or shop at your own pace before departing to the Omaha Zoo for a couple hours. This Zoo is known nation-wide as one of the top zoo’s in the nation. It features the World’s Largest Indoor Jungle and Desert Dome complex. It also features Kingdoms of the Night, Gorilla Valley, Orangutan Forrest and New Butterfly complex. The Worlds largest exhibits are located at the front entrance area. Your ticket will also have a ticket for the Tram that will take you on a guided tour of the Zoo. Dinner will be on your own this evening either at the restaurant in the hotel or they have a shuttle that will take you back to “the Old Market” Place if you want to eat there. B

Day 5
Saturday, August 14
Breakfast will be at the hotel before departing for home. We are going to stop at the Iowa Machine Shed for an early lunch before returning to Illinois. We should arrive home in the late afternoon after experiencing 12 Countries Without A Passport!!!! B
