Day 1
Wednesday, December 4 
Welcome aboard as we experience how 10 Countries Around the World Without a Passport celebrate Christmas in Omaha, NE. We are going to experience the food, entertainment, sites, and Christmas cultures of the different ethic groups listed above. We will start our adventure by traveling through Illinois, Iowa and into Nebraska, arriving in Omaha in the late afternoon. We will have lunch at the Cracker Barrel in Des Moines and the Doubletree Hotel, located in Omaha will be our home for the next 3 nights. We will visit our first country tonight for Dinner and Entertainment in Germany. Shop at the German Holiday Market with everything from traditional breads to German ornaments. Enjoy an evening of traditional German Holiday dancing, singing and food presented by the German American Society. After dinner, the society’s German Dance group performs dances from various regions of Germany followed by the men’s choir. The Evening ends with a sing-a-long of Silent Night.    BD

Day 2
Thursday, December 5 
Breakfast will be served at our hotel before departing to the Holiday Poinsettia Show at the Lauritzen Botanical Gardens. Over 7000 poinsettias are on display including a tree consisting of 700 poinsettias. Next will be Christmas at Union Station – The Durham Museum. A holiday favorite makes a returning appearance during Christmas at Union Station in 2013…. The Ethnic Holiday Tree exhibition is one of the favorites of the event and showcases how cultures from around the world celebrate the Christmas season. Each tree is decorated by a local Omaha ethnic society and is accompanied by interpretative text explaining the meaning behind the various decorations and unique traditions within each culture. Lunch is going to be in the Czech Republic at the Bohemian Cafe`. Established in the early 1900’s, this Omaha Czech community landmark continues to serve a variety of home-made Czech dishes! The wait staff will be traditional Czech costume and the decor will take you back to the old country. Lunch will be followed by a demonstration on the making of a Traditional Czech Christmas Pastry Dessert, which we get to eat!!!! We will spend time this afternoon at Father Flanagan’s Boys Town. Visit the hall of history to learn the interesting history of this city of children along with viewings of a number of beautiful Chapels. Along with a tour of the restored 1920’s home of Father Flanagan, where we will learn of the Irish Holiday Traditions at Boys Town and see Father Flanagan House all decorated in traditional Irish Ornaments. Dinner will be “Christmas in Greece” at the St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church with its beautiful Gold Dome and amazing Byzantine artwork!! Later we will enjoy a home-cooked Greek meal while learning about Christmas traditions in Greece. The Choir will sing Christmas Carols in Greek and the Dancers will perform. To top off the Christmas spirit, we will take a driving tour of some of Omaha’s best “Holiday Lights”. Not only will we see the commercial areas but some of the best residential lighting displays. Day 3
Firday, December 6 
Breakfast will be served at your hotel again this morning but our final country to visit is Ukraine but we don’t have to leave our hotel this morning...Ukraine is coming to us!! Olesia Reprichowskyj will bring various Ukrainian linens and gives an entertaining presentation about the linens connection to Ukrainian history, custom and Christmas traditions. Olesia will have us laughing while educating us about life in Ukraine it’s just a short hop from Ukraine to Scotland and the 1903 Joslyn Castle. The stone mansion resembles a traditional Scottish Castle and as you enter through the huge front doors, you will be amazed by the craftsmanship of the elaborate wood interior. The mansion contains 35 rooms. A Scottish presentation and dancers will follow the tour of the Castle. It’s off to Spain for Lunch!!! We will enjoy a true Spanish Tapas Luncheon at Espana. A variety of foods will delight you and there will be something for everyone. It’s about time for an afternoon break and where better to stop then the Lithuanian Bakery in Lithuania. We are going to enjoy a presentation on bread and tort making with a big sample tray of torts. We will take a break back at the hotel before departing for Dinner and the Cho Mari Ballet Folklorico, the Folk Dancers of Mexico Dinner Performance. This group really brings the house down with their terrific dancing and beautiful costumes. The dinner is a non-spicy Mexican meal. We will learn about holiday traditions in Mexico.   BLDS

Day 4
Saturday, December 7
Breakfast will be at the hotel before departing for home. We are going to stop at the Iowa Machine Shed for an early lunch before returning to Illinois. We should arrive home in the late afternoon after experiencing 10 Countries in “Christmas Around the World Without A Passport!!!!”   BL
