Departing early morning and heading south to our adventure in Memphis and Nashville.  We will travel to the Heartbreak Hotel, right in the heart of Graceland.  The rooms are accented with framed black-and-white Elvis photographs, and the blonde wood furnishings are designed to evoke a 1950s feeling. Each guest room includes a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave and is equipped with remote control television that plays Elvis movies 24/7. There is even a heart-shaped outdoor swimming pool.  There is a restaurant and lounge right in the hotel.   Relax and enjoy the evening.   B

Day 2:
April 23: Wednesday:
We will start our day with breakfast in the dining room before taking a city tour with Backbeat Tours to learn the musical history of the city, famous for its blues, rock, gospel, and soul. It's the only tour in town to put Memphis' musical heritage in the hands of real musicians, who will combine story, comedy, and live music to divulge the secrets of Memphis' history. See the greatest attractions Memphis has to offer (Sun Studio, Stax Museum of American Soul Music, Beale Street, Lorraine Motel, Cotton Row, movie locations & more).  Lunch will be at one of the restaurants downtown on Beale Street while you have a chance to explore the shops.  Back at the Graceland complex we will explore all the included attractions:  an audio guided tour of Graceland Mansion and grounds, tour of Elvis’ two custom airplanes, tour of Elvis’ Automobile Museum, Tour of Elvis in Hollywood Exhibit, tour of Elvis Lives: The King and Pop Culture Exhibit, tour of the Private Presley Exhibit and a tour of the ’68 Special Exhibit.  Enjoy all the shops and attractions before we depart for some real Memphis BBQ.   BD

Day 3:
April 24: Thursday:
Breakfast in the hotel and on the bus as we start our journey towards Nashville with a couple stops for fun.  Our first stop is going to be at the Casey Jones Village. They Claim to be “The Best Whistlestop between Memphis & Nashville is Jackson, Tennessee!”  We will take a short break and enjoy the world famous Old Country Store Restaurant, Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum and the new Music Highway Crossroads, a shop and music venue dedicated to Tennessee Delta music!  There is even an ice cream store!!!  Just a short drive down the road is another legendary stop in Tennessee…..Loretta Lynn’s Ranch!!!  We will spend a couple hours touring her Plantation Home, Museum, Coal Mine and Butcher Holler Home.  We will take a Self Guided tour and experience the Legend of Loretta Lynn in her new 18,000 square foot Museum located on her Ranch and Home in Hurricane Mills, TN. Loretta has amassed a huge collection of memorabilia and awards from her career as well as mementos from her many beloved friends in the World of Entertainment. We can visit Lady Loretta Boutique also located in the Museum.  Before we leave Hurricane Mills, TN we will stop at Loretta’s Restaurant for a buffet lunch.  On to Nashville and to the Country Inn and Suites hotel, our home for the next 3 nights.  After getting settled in and freshen up, we are going to travel to a restaurant called “Loveless Café.”   The Loveless Café has been featured on Travel Channel and many other national shows.  Located on Highway 100 in Nashville, Tennessee at the Northern End of the Natchez Trace Parkway, the Loveless Cafe remains unchanged in the quaint country charm and good cooking that has made it a landmark in the South since its doors opened over half a century ago.   Not only do they have good country cookin’ but they have gift shops where you can buy their goodies.  We will return to the hotel where you can enjoy the rest of your evening.      BLD

Day 4:
April 25: Friday:
Following breakfast at our hotel, we will board the bus to travel to Fontanel Mansion.  Fontanel was Barbara Mandrell’s home and is decorated like it was when Barbara lived there.  Unique would be an understatement when trying to describe the Fontanel Mansion. That's because this home and the land it sits on means so many things to so many different people. If you're a country music fan, you'll love the fact that this was the house that Barbara Mandrell built in 1988. It was her primary home for years and acted as a sort of gathering place and getaway for countless country music stars.  Following lunch at the Mansion, we will return to our hotel to board the special bus that will take us on a tour of Nashville and the Stars Homes.  Our tour will include a drive through downtown Nashville, including Historic 2nd Ave., the State Capitol, and the Ryman Auditorium.  You will enjoy a driving tour through the neighborhoods of the elite Country Music artists who call Nashville their home.  While on your tour, you may see the homes of Country Music Greats such as Alan Jackson, former home of Vince Gill and Amy Grant, Ronnie Milsap, Dolly Parton, former home of Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks, the late Web Pierce, the late Hank Williams, the late Tammy Wynette, Lori Ann Crook and Little Jimmy Dickens.  Last year we even parked right in front of Trace Atkins house!!!  We will stop at the hotel for a short break before going just down the street to the Nashville Lights Theater for their Dinner and Show. They provide entertainment at its best with songs of the old days along with the new country, humor and lots of laughs.  Following dinner, back to the hotel.       BLD

Day 5:
April 26: Saturday:
After a good breakfast we will depart for the Country Music Hall of Fame.  Our ticket will include: a tour of the World's largest popular music museum:  The Celebrity Audio Tour-Bringing history to life with this guided audio tour by artists such as Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Charlie Daniels and Bill Cody, WSM radio personality and GAC Master Series host:   Guided tour of Historic RCA Studio B- only historic studio tour in Nashville!  This studio is one of the world's most important recording studios. More than 35,000 songs were brought to life including more than 1,000 top ten American hits, and over 150 Elvis Presley recordings.  You will find many things that will bring memories back to you from a time long ago.  You’ll be saying “I remember that!!”
While we are downtown Nashville, we will take some time and have lunch at one of the many place along Broadway Street and have some free time to shop the stores in downtown Nashville.  You may want to buy that special tee-shirt or maybe your own cowboy hat!!  Whatever you are looking for will be on that street.  We all have heard of the American Pickers, Mike and Frank!!  Now they have a new store in Nashville and we are going to go visit it and see if we can find that special bargain.  The store is called Antique Archaeology     following a short break back at the hotel; we will go to dinner at the Cock of the Walk restaurant before heading to the Grand Old Opry, the home of Country Music!!  BD
