You asked yourself.....what is a Femme Fatale?  The dictionary state it is French for "deadly woman" or a mysterious and seductive woman whose charms ensnare her lovers!  I think quite frankly that will describe all of us Ladies who will be partaking in the 13th Annual Ladies Getaway Weekend.  We have moved up the weekend to be the last weekend in September...so maybe we won't freeze like last year!

This year we are heading in a whole new direction....Amish Country in Indiana!  We head out early in the morning with breakfast on board and our first stop is Middlebury at the Essenhaus for some shopping and a buffet lunch.  Once we have completed our first meal we will be met by our guide through Amish Country for our Backroads Brown Bag Tour!  Our guide will bring us along the backroads and you will hear about the local history, traditions and customs of the Amish.  We will "bag" some fun on this...you will each be given a brown bag as we visit select, unique, locally owned shops you will each receive a "special treat" to fill your brown bags.

The next part will really appeal to our midsections with a live demonstration of Amish cinnamon roll making with some treats to take with us!  You will be able to enjoy a sample hot out of the oven while Elaine, our Amish baker, demonstrates how she makes her special delicacy.  We will be able to also pair up our hot specialties with a hot cup or coffee or tea.  There will also be rolls to take home to share with your family and friends.
Our next stop on our Frolic will be check in at our cozy Nappanee Inn.  Combined with its rural setting among the area's farms, the comforts of home make the Inn a cozy country getaway.

Now this is where the Frolic gets interesting....wine tasting at the Barn Loft Grill!  We will be able to sample some of the great wines available and you will be able to purchase some of your favorites.

We will again be the guests of a family style Thresher Dinner in the century old barn restaurant.  A thresher dinner is a tribute to Amish threshers who worked together each year at harvest time followed by a delicious meal cooked by the women in wood-fired stoves.  You will enjoy scrumptious food reminiscent of old Amish festivals like, ham & bean soup, freshly-baked bread, homemade apple butter, green beans, mashed potatoes, roast turkey, smoked ham, roast beef and broasted chicken.  Did I mention after all of that your mouth will be watering over the freshly made assortment of fresh fruit pies!  There will also be available to purchase prior to show bakery items, butter and fudge.

Once we have completely enjoyed our Thresher Dinner we will head to the theater to see, "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" live production in the 1911 Round Barn Theater.   Upon the final bows and curtain we head back to our cozy Inn for a good night's sleep.

Upon awakening in the morning you will be enjoy a continental breakfast  prior to heading out for today's festivities. (That is if you are still hungry from yesterdays feasts!)
We hop back on the bus for start of our day and will be visiting the Quilt Gardens in Nappanee. We will have a local explain the Quilt Gardens at Heritage Center and Coppes Commons.

Our next stop ladies is the Linton's Enchanted Gardens....explore the many themed gardens such as Japanese Tea House, Southwestern garden with mine shaft, Victorian House, Dutch Gardens with Grist Mill.  There is also conveniently located a 25,000 square foot gift shop filled with home decor, gift items, purses, jewelry, candles and crafts.
Our next adventure we will ride a 65- foot riverboat on the Saint Joseph River. This ride is peaceful, relaxing and scenic as some of the most beautiful homes in Elkhart are located at the river's edge.  We will enjoy leisurely cruise along with a box lunch.

We dock the boat head back on the motorcoach to Goshen Antique Mall.  This is a 25,000 square foot indoor air conditioned antique mall!  They are going to open just for us today!  They have it stocked from floor to ceiling with furniture, China, pottery, glassware, toys, postcards, quilts, coins and more!

After we have shopped, sightseeing and river cruise we head back to Illinois in our nice comfy motorcoach!  You will be able to kick off your shoes, relax and enjoy a chick flick and some snacks!  We should be returning home early evening.... just in time for you to grab all of your purchases and make it home in time for the 10:00 nightly news!

If you have been a repeat offender with us and have survived prior trips we are glad to have you back....if you are new and thinking of grabbing your girlfriends this is the trip you want to go on!  We always say grab some girlfriends, sisters, co-workers, aunts, grandmas or neighbors and come along with us.  There are just a few rules.......must love to laugh and have fun!

Call today 800-892-1419 and make sure we have a seat with your name on it!  There is limited seating and they will be going fast!  We would love to have you become a member of our "repeat offenders club"!
