Cocoa Beach Florida
The Florida trip this year is a total of 30 days out of the Illinois winter.

Jan. 16-Feb. 14, 2016
$4400 Single     $3400 Double

We are switching beaches this year still staying on the Atlantic side but heading a little farther south! The Holiday Inn Resort in Daytona Beach has been our home for so long but as you know areas take on change. Unfortunately, the Daytona Beach area is falling behind in the times. We have listened to you from the results of our questionnaire that we sent out and the majority would like to head farther south hoping for better weather. We can’t control Mother Nature but hoping she will bring us more sunshine in Cocoa Beach.

We will be staying at the Best Western Oceanfront in Cocoa Beach which is just inches from the beach. ALL of our rooms will be oceanfront with private balconies. We will have a community room that will be used as our headquarters along with a breakfast buffet served every morning. If you have internet access and would like to check out the new place go to bestwestern.com. The address of the hotel is Best Western Ocean Beach Hotel 5600 N Atlantic Cocoa Beach, FL.

Our hotel offers breakfast buffet every morning, heated pool, laundry facilities, a BBQ/picnic area, exercise room, safe deposit box, free wireless internet, refrigerator, microwave and free local calls. This hotel is situated in a residential area and very easy to walk around and just a short distance to the Cocoa Beach Pier. The Pier has a couple of restaurants and an ice cream shop in your backyard.

Located across the street is a small shopping mall with a Publix Grocery Store and some other small shops. We have located two churches that are in approximately 15 minutes of the hotel. We have also located a hair and nail salon because we all know that we want to look our best while in the Sunshine State. They do have a steak house that is located next to the lobby that is open during evening hours.

We have many day trips planned for you during your stay in Cocoa Beach. We have a choice of West Side Story at the Village Playhouse and Guys & Dolls at Surfside Player’s Community Theater. There is a German Restaurant, The Heidelberg is located downtown Cocoa Beach for dinner out. There is Davidson of Dundee that offers a fresh-fruit packinghouse and citrus juice factory tour. We will visit the Planetarium and Observatory on Eastern Florida State College grounds for a view into space.

We will explore the Orlando area and all it has to offer since it is just a skip away. We will also mix in some of the old familiar spots such as the Daytona Beach Flea Market and end the day with dinner at Down the Hatch or Aunt Catfish. We are also thinking of maybe doing a Girls’ Pamper Day with a trip to the salon for hair, nails and toes!

We are still in the process of finding some great places to explore and will have a calendar for the trip completed soon. Cocoa Beach does offer a shuttle service to the downtown area that picks up and drops off in front of the hotel.
The Florida trip this year is a total of 30 days out of the Illinois winter. We will be staying en route at all Drury Inns this year first night in Nashville and the second night in Valdosta. On our return we will be staying at the Drury Inns in Marietta and Mt. Vernon. We have come to find out that the Drury Inns have quickly become our hotel of choice on the road. They offer the kick back hour with food in the evening, have wonderful rooms and a great breakfast to greet you with in the morning.

We will offer trip protection for this trip. The cost of the protection will be $300.00 for Single and $220.00 for double occupancy. This protection is optional but strongly suggested to protect your investment in the event you would have to cancel. This protection does also cover you during the duration of your trip.

The breakdown of the trip you will have 4 nights lodging on the road and 26 nights in Cocoa Beach! You will have the responsibility of your noon meal while traveling. The breakfasts will be included each morning during your trip. The coach will still make comfort stops every two hours while traveling. You will be joined on this trip with our professional driver Dale, and the entertainment of Ina as your host. Make this the year you leave Illinois weather behind and enjoy the warm sunny weather of Cocoa Beach for 30 days at least! This trip you will see new sights, experience new places and meet new friends.
