Departing early morning and heading south to our adventure in Memphis and New Orleans. We will travel to the Heartbreak Hotel, right in the heart of Graceland. The rooms are accented with framed black-and-white Elvis photographs, and the blonde wood furnishings are designed to evoke a 1950s feeling. Each guest room includes a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave and is equipped with remote control television that plays Elvis movies 24/7. There is even a heart-shaped outdoor swimming pool. There is a restaurant and lounge right in the hotel. B

Day 2
Thursday, Dec. 2
We will start our day with breakfast in the dining room before taking a city tour with Backbeat Tours to learn the musical history of the city, famous for its blues, rock, gospel, and soul. It's the only tour in town to put Memphis' musical heritage in the hands of real musicians, who will combine story, comedy, and live music to divulge the secrets of Memphis' history. See the greatest attractions Memphis has to offer (Sun Studio, Stax Museum of American Soul Music, Beale Street, Lorraine Motel, Cotton Row, movie locations & more). Lunch will be at one of the restaurants in the Graceland complex before exploring all the included attractions: an audio guided tour of Graceland Mansion and grounds, tour of Elvis’ two custom airplanes, tour of Elvis’ Automobile Museum, Tour of Elvis in Hollywood Exhibit, tour of Elvis Lives: The King and Pop Culture Exhibit, tour of the Private Presley Exhibit and a tour of the ’68 Special Exhibit. Enjoy all the shops and attractions before we depart for some real Memphis BBQ. BD

Day 3
Friday, Dec. 3
We will depart Memphis today and head south to New Orleans!!! We should arrive late afternoon at the Sheridan Hotel on Canal Street right in the heart of all the actions! Two blocks from Bourbon Street, two blocks from Harrah’s casino, 3 blocks from Jackson Square, Café Du Monde for Chicory coffee and beignets….. and so much more!! Tonight you will have time to explore Bourbon Street or the Casino before heading to bed. The Sheridan Hotel will be your home for the next 4 nights with a sit down American breakfast included every morning in their restaurant. The Cathedral Concerts will also be going on at St Louis cathedral in Jackson Square along with many other of the New Orleans Christmas traditions every night of your stay! B

Day 4
Saturday, Dec. 4
Ok..Let’s slow the pace down a little bit! We are going to enjoy the fun, food and folklore of  The New Orleans School of Cooking! The entertaining classes are held in the Louisiana General Store located in a renovated molasses warehouse built in the 1800’s in the heart of the French Quarter. They will teach the basics of Louisiana cooking in a way you’ll never forget!! We even get to eat the food they make!!! The afternoon can be spent at Jackson Square, Christmas shopping or the Casino. This evening we are going to attend the Reveillin Dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse. A Reveillin Dinner is a New Orleans tradition that used to be held only twice a year, but now the upscale famous restaurants in the area celebrate it throughout the Holiday Season. Reveillin is French for “awakening.” The Creole families celebrated this elaborate meal after midnight mass and then again on New Years Eve. The Story has it that on both nights …… everyone must stay awake beyond midnight!!! We won’t stay up until midnight but we will sure enjoy the food!!! But we are just across the street from the “Miracle on Fulton Street”, periodic ‘snowfalls’, dazzling lights and decorations will transform the street into a winter wonderland! One of the city’s newest holiday traditions, “Miracle on Fulton Street” brings the magic of the season alive in true New Orleans fashion. Visit with Santa and his reindeer, sip hot chocolate or spiced apple cider, and sample the traditional holiday treats that are offered, along with entertainment. You’ll leave feeling jolly and filled with good cheer! BLD

Day 5
Sunday, Dec. 5
After breakfast we will board the bus and go to Oak Alley Plantation for their Sunday Brunch and a tour of the plantation all decked out for Christmas. Celebrate the Christmas Season in one of the southland's most beautiful settings. The mansion will be dressed in fresh fruit, greenery and seasonal floral arrangements, reminiscent of Creole Christmases past. This evening will be a trip to tour the magnificent “Celebration in the Oaks” at City Park, a festive display of nearly two million lights decorating one-hundred-year-old oak trees. See the park by riding in a horse-drawn carriage through the park, by miniature train or travel by foot. We will all enjoy a ride on the miniature train, decorated for the holidays, that runs on a 2 1/2 mile track through the park. Attractions of the walking tour include the thirteen vintage rides in the Carousel Garden. The two favorites are the antique wooden carousel and the miniature train that tours the park. The gallery of children’s' trees is a collection of trees decorated with handmade ornaments by local students from over 200 schools. They line the walkways in the Carousel Garden & Storyland. There's a 14,000-square-foot elevated historic train exhibit that has almost 40 intricately crafted New Orleans landmark buildings between one and three feet tall. It also has replicas of the New Orleans Streetcars. BL
