Itinerary:

Day 1
Jan. 16, Sunday:
We will depart early morning for Chicago on one of Green River Lines coaches to fly from Chicago to Miami where we will be transported to our home for the next 13 nights…the Norwegian Star. Norwegian Star has it all, with 16 distinct dining options, 12 bars and lounges, a sprawling spa and always-exciting casino, golf driving nets and a movie theater will keep us very well entertained when we're not having the time of our lives on a Shore Excursion. We will experience “free style: dining which means: No set dining times, no assigned tables, a relaxed dress code and more restaurants than days in the week to chose from. We will served a lite continental breakfast of rolls and juice on the coach going to the airport.

This amazing journey will show how they joined the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean by traveling through the 50-mile Panama Canal which is one of the largest and most difficult engineering projects ever undertaken and something you'll remember for a lifetime. Then add in compelling ports like Cartagena, Colombia; Puntarenas, Costa Rica; Huatulco, Mexico; Acapulco, Mexico; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico!!! The full transit of the Panama Canal will take about 8 hours as we will travel through several different locks and the views will be amazing. The transit will be completely done during daylight hours so you will be able to enjoy every part. We will pass under the Bridge of the Americas in Balboa at the Pacific Ocean end of the Canal.

Day 2 & 3
Jan 17 & 18, Monday & Tuesday:
These will be “sea days” as we sail towards South America and our first port, Cartagena, Colombia. Relax and enjoy the sites or read a good book, but better yet, join in on the activities the ships cruise director will have planned. The Spa is a good retreat, or try your luck at the casino and don’t forget the most important part of a cruise…..the food!!! There will be something for everyone to do while we enjoy the “sea days”.

Day 4
Jan 19, Wednesday:
This will be our first “port of call”, Cartagena, Colombia! There will many different offerings of shore excursions from a City Tour, sailing on an old Spanish Galleon and even a “Mud Bath” and then jumping into a nearby fresh water lake to rinse off and many more choices for you to make if you wish. But you don’t have to even get off the ship if you don’t want.

Or maybe a trip to see how the Coffee you drink is roasted and have the chance to sample the flavorful brew. Also see how the coffee beans, also known as cherries, are picked, sorted, peeled, fermented and sun-dried. Many different trips to choose from or stay on the ship.
