Day 1
Monday, June 21
Jump aboard as we begin our trip to South Dakota’s Black Hills. We will travel on our deluxe motorcoach across Illinois and Iowa, staying in Sioux Falls at the Best Western Empire hotel that is located right next to the mall, for our first night lodging. CB

Day 2
Tuesday, June 22
Breakfast will be in our hotel as we head west with a stop at the Wall Drug Store in Wall, SD. The next four nights will be at the AmericInn Hotel in Deadwwod, SD. The hotel offers an indoor heated pool, steam room, spa, arcade, guest laundry, full service bar, and high speed Internet access. The Deadwood AmericInn has six action-packed casinos, live blackjack & poker tables. Try your luck in the casino or stroll the streets of this historic town. Walk outside and you’ll never know when a “gun fight” might break out!!! There is also a trolley that runs from one end of town to the other so you can explore all the casinos, but if you’s not far from one end to the other. Also, enjoy $20 loaded on your player’s card that may be used in the casino, restaurant or gift shop. B

Day 3
Wednesday, June 23
You will have time this morning to explore Deadwood and all the interesting shops until about noon when you will be treated to a tour of Deadwood and its beautiful old buildings. Then we will visit the final resting place of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy. B

Day 4
Thursday, June 24
We will check in at Fort Hays “Dance with the Wolves” Film set for our “All you can Eat Cowboy” breakfast of pancakes, biscuits and gravy and sausage will be waiting at the chuck wagon before boarding our coach. Sit back and relax as our guide narrates the tour of Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park and Crazy Horse Memorial. We will travel the Peter Norbeck National Scenic Byway as it takes us over Iron Mountain through scenic tunnels and pigtail bridges. Be sure to bring plenty of film for this Kodak moment!! Lunch will be at the presidential summer white house to former Calvin Coolidge. Following a full day of touring we will return to the Fort Hays Dances with the Wolves Film Set for our Chuck wagon Supper and Cowboy Music Show. When the Supper Bell rings the Cowboys and Cowgirls will serve up Chuck wagon Potatoes, sliced Roast Beef simmered in mild BBQ Sauce, western Baked Beans, Biscuits & Honey, Applesauce, Old Fashion Spice cake and drinks!! The Fort Hays Wranglers will take the stage to entertain you with the Black Hills most popular western music variety show! Over an hour of comedy and toe tappin` music…so be sure to bring your camera!! BD

Day 5
Friday, June 25
We are staying on Main Street, right in the middle of all the action. Spend your time exploring or trying your lucky on the machines before we board the coach and go to Lead, SD to tour the Homestake Gold Mine and learn how the miners lived and the way the gold was mined. On the way back to Deadwood, we will stop at the Tataka Interpretive Center. At one time 30 million bison roamed the Great Plains, the Tataka Interpretive Center depicts the history of the bison in North American, Kevin Costner’s tribute to the American West is a centerpiece of 17 larger than life bronze statues. B

Day 6
Saturday, June 26
After breakfast we will depart Deadwood and head back to Illinois. Maybe we will be able to see some buffalo as we travel down some scenic back roads of South Dakota. We will be staying in Lincoln, NE at the Country Inn and Suites and dinner will be in their restaurant “Beacon Hills”. BD

Day 7
Sunday, June 27
The fun isn’t over yet! We are going to stop in Des Moines, IA and enjoy lunch at the Iowa Machine Shed. Time will pass quickly today with conversations, games and napping as we travel home with fond memories of the beautiful “Black Hills of South Dakota”. BL
