Day 1: April 21: Sunday: We will travel from Illinois to Murfreesboro, TN for our first night away from home. We will be staying at the Doubletree Hotel. B

Day 2: April 22: Monday: Breakfast will be in our hotel before departing. Our second day will take us thru Tennessee and Georgia before arriving in Savannah, our home for the next 2 nights. We will be staying at the Doubletree Inn on the water front. Dinner will be a buffet dinner at The Lady & Son’s Restaurant. This is one of Paula Deen’s Restaurants and is a must-dine experience while in Savannah. BD

Day 3: April 23: Tuesday: Breakfast will be in our hotel and then we will board the trolleys for a tour through the historic squares of Savannah. The rest of the day you can use your on/off trolley pass to explore on your own as the afternoon will be free to explore the waterfront or the historical district. Dinner tonight will be at the “Pirates House”, serving Savannah since 1753 with a bounty of good food, drink, and a rousing good time. One of Savannah’s most intriguing restaurants. Then it’s a Ghost Trolley Tour to experience the “haunted” side of Savannah, featuring a ghost named Gracie!! BD

Day 4: April 24: Wednesday: Breakfast will be in our hotel before taking the Paula Deen Tour. We will hear the “Rags to Riches” story of how Paula became of the Food Networks biggest stars. Lunch will be Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House, Paula’s Brothers Restaurant, located on the Marsh with a wonderful view of the water anywhere you sit. This afternoon sit back and enjoy the ride to Charleston, SC where we will check into the Springhill Suites for the next 3 nights. Dinner will be included tonight at the California Dreaming restaurant. The restaurant is located right on the water and the food is great!! BLD

Day 5: April 25: Thursday: Breakfast will be in our hotel before departing for downtown Charleston where we will meet our step-on guide. We will be seeing historic landmarks such as the Calhoun Mansion, Dock ST. Theater, Powder Magazine, St Michael’s Church, City Market, Rainbow Row, the Battery and much more. We will have some free time to browse the Market and have lunch on our own before meeting to have a Carriage Ride of the Historical District. This will takes us places our coach can’t go. After a short break at the hotel we will go to the Water’s Edge Restaurant for dinner. Let golden sunsets and shimmering tides guide you to the classic elegance of Water's Edge Restaurant. Enjoy dining on the banks of Shem Creek, just minutes from Historic Downtown Charleston. BD

Day 6: April 26: Friday: We will depart after breakfast in our hotel to go visit the Magnolia Plantation. Founded in 1676 by the Drayton family, Magnolia Plantation has survived the centuries and witnessed the history of our nation unfold before it from the American Revolution through the Civil War and beyond. It is the oldest public tourist site in the Lowcountry, and the oldest public gardens in America, opening its doors to visitors in 1870 to view the thousands of beautiful flowers and plants in its famous gardens. We will tour the plantation on a tram tour and also take a tour thru the house. You will have some free time to enjoy the gardens, art gallery and petting zoo. We will enjoy lunch at the Magnolia Plantation before stopping at the Charleston Tea Plantation. Learn first hand how tea is made during the informative factory tour, take an enjoyable ride through the tea fields and visit their unique tea gift shoppe. On our way back to our hotel we will stop for a photo opp at the Angel Oak on Johns Island. Dinner tonight will be at the Charleston Crab House on James Island. BLD

Day 7: April 27: Saturday: Following breakfast at our hotel we will depart for Renfro Valley and some good country music. We will enjoy a southern cooked meal and great entertainment at the Renfro Valley Barn Dance. We will be staying at the Heritage Inn in Renfro Valley. BD

Day 8: April 28: Sunday: Returning to Illinois today after a charming look at the “old” south, lots of good food and great times. Southern Hospitality is alive and well!!!!
