Wine Women and Song 2016
We got the hottest ticket in town right here!

August 27 - 28,  2016  $275.00

What goes better than wine, women and song all rolled up into one weekend? We got the hottest ticket in town right here as we head out on another one of Marsha’s crazy adventures. This year we are added some wine, lots of women, some great music and a dash of chocolate!

We make our first stop at Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm in Eau Claire, Michigan for a wagon train tour of the orchards along with an included catered lunch in the middle of the peach trees. You will not only be able to sample the fruit you will be able to bring some home with you. Once we have had our fill of our “fruity” friends we will then set our sights on shopping in nearby Marshall, Michigan. This is a little quaint town that has an abundance of small boutiques and unique shops that are sure to please your shopping pleasure. You will want to make sure you hit the Mole Hole for some unique gift ideas. At the Mole Hole they will even play the 1927 Barton Theater Organ upon request.

We have had our lunch and we have shopped till we dropped now on to our resting place for the evening the Holiday Inn Express in Marshall is where we land. We will have a short break to getting ready for our next adventure we head to Turkeyville USA!!! Now, at this point I know you are thinking that Marsha has really done it this trip…..Turkeyville???? Don’t let the name fool you this one of a kind complex has a little bit of everything. You will be seated at our reserved tables along with homemade Grandma’s rolls and cranberry relish that will proceed a delicious buffet dinner. Following up our dinner you will have your choice of not one, not two but three different desserts (all homemade of course). If you can pull yourself away from the dinner table you will have time to walk around and visit the bakery, ice cream parlor and gift shop. You won’t want to wander too far because you will be back at the restaurant for their production of SHOUT. This musical tracks 5 groovy gals as they come of age during those liberating days that made England swing. With its irresistible blend of hip-swiveling hits, eye popping fashions and psychedelic dances from the 60’s, this fun-filled musical will make you want to throw your head back and SHOUT. Once we have danced and sang till we can’t do either anymore we head back to resting place the Holiday Inn Express for some much needed shut eye.

Once you have had your very peaceful rest you will be awaken by the scrumptious smells of breakfast that will be waiting for you in the breakfast room. We will have you bring your luggage down with you and we will begin to load for the start of a brand new day!

We don’t have to venture too far in Marshall for our next stop where we tap into our creative side. We will be pulling up in front of the Paper & I shop for our creative project. The professionals at Paper & I will guide us through a project making a galvanized tote with paper embellishments. She did try to explain this process to me over the phone and I did not comprehend her vision. The ladies at Paper & I like to make each experience a unique and positive one. Upon completion we will be able to take our creations with us.

We have tapped into our creative side and now we are going to tap into our hunger side. We have reservations in the Signature garden patio room at Schuler’s Restaurant. This restaurant is known by the locals as a must when you are visiting their small town. They have been owned by several generations of Schuler’s and will not disappoint. We will have an included lunch of homemade tomato basil soup, assorted turkey and roast beef sandwiches along with their famous handmade pub chips. You will also have garden salad and pasta salad to round out your lunch. After you have completed your lunch they will have an assortment of homemade dessert bars to choose from.

We will then split our group into two and the first group will be whisked away by wild horses on a historical tour of Marshall. Don’t get excited the horses are tamed and will be leading the trolley with a knowledgeable tour guide showing us the highlights and local folklore of Marshall. The other half will have approx. 45 minutes to get in the last bit of shopping in Marshall or may just relax on a park bench with a cold beverage if you so prefer.

We have had our lunch, shopping, and now……WINE! We will be making our last stop at the 2121 Vineyard Winery for a wine tasting. You will be able to sample several of their wines and if you prefer you can even purchase some to bring home.
After all of this excitement we will then finally be heading for home from Benton Harbor. The ride home we will relax with a beverage and some snacks put our feet up and enjoy a chick flick!

This trip will be number 12 on our Ladies Retreats if anyone is counting! I try to find something for everyone on our trips. If you are a repeat offender you know that we all have a good time and lots and lots of laughter.
You will want to sign up early seats are limited to 30 this year and you won’t want to be the one sitting home on this great weekend in August.

This trip includes of course transportation, lodging but also (2) breakfast (2) lunches and (1) dinner, entertainment, historical tour and WINE. I am sorry but the shopping is on you so don’t forget your charge cards! Looking forward to seeing my repeat offenders and then of course meeting new offenders to add to our enrollment.
